French Climbing Bean 'Blue Lake'

Phaseolus Vulgaris

French Climbing Bean 'Blue Lake'

Bedding Plant x 6

‘Blue Lake’ is an heirloom variety dating from 1885. It produces an abundant harvest of pencil-thin, stringless green beans with a fine, sweet flavour from early summer, and then the last few pods can be left on the plant to dry for white haricot beans to store. A climbing variety, it makes a decorative addition to any garden when grown up a trellis.

What am I Buying?

Plug plants are small, young plants grown in cell trays. Even the largest plug plants, described as extra-large or jumbo, are still small plants from cell trays and not established plants. Plug plants can be great value compared to buying more established plants however they may need some extra care to get them started. Caring for Plug Plants

We recommend starting plug plants in a small pot and not planting directly into open ground or large pots/planters. You will want a plant pot roughly the size of a tea mug, commonly referred to as 7cm or 9cm pots. Ensure the pot has plenty of holes underneath and preferably over two tiers for even better drainage.

Reduced Plastics

Please note: In order to lessen our environmental impact, all of our plants will be removed from their plastic cell trays or pots before sending. Ensure you are ready to pot your plants when they arrive.
