Details
‘Mephisto Red' is a moderately spicy, green-leaved wasabi with reddish stems. This traditional Japanese plant is perfect for sushi and salads, as both the stalk and leaves can be used. Sometimes the red wasabi has a reddish hue to the leaves and has a sweeter taste than the green wasabi. Surprisingly easy to grow in the British climate; they love a damp, shady spot and can be grown in a pot or in the garden bed.
Please note herbaceous plants naturally die-back during the colder months. We always ensure plants have at least some growth during this time, however when buying during October through to March, the growth may be minimal and there may be blemishes from winter cold.

Plant Care
2L (2 Litres) refers to the volume of the pot, the roots are almost 4 times the size of a 9cm pot. The size of the plant can vary greatly, most will be between 30-60cm tall unless they are naturally low growing plants or if you are buying herbaceous plants in winter.
Reduced PlasticsIn order to lessen our environmental impact, all of our plants will be removed from their plastic cell trays or pots before sending. Ensure you are ready to pot your plants when they arrive.
