Allium 'Sphaerocephalon'

Allium sphaerocephalon

9cm Plants x 2 (More info)

Allium 'Sphaerocephalon'

9cm Plant x 2

Allium sphaerocephalon features distinctive, egg-shaped flower heads that are initially green but gradually turn burgundy-red as they mature. The individual flowers are small and star-shaped. These unique, elongated flower heads resemble drumsticks or bottle brushes. The flower stalks typically reach heights of 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 centimeters). The flower heads are relatively small, about 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 centimeters) in diameter. Drumstick Alliums are appreciated for their unique appearance and can be used to add a touch of whimsy and intrigue to garden designs. They work well in borders, mixed perennial beds, rock gardens, and naturalized areas. The intriguing flower heads also make them a popular choice for dried flower arrangements.

What am I Buying?

Please remember that you're not buying 9cm tall plants. 9cm refers to the diameter of the pot commonly used in plant retail.
The size of the plant can vary greatly.
Most will be between 10-30cm tall unless they are naturally low growing plants or if you are buying herbaceous plants in winter.

Bulbs are a form of dormant plant which when planted in the correct conditions produce a full plant over time. Plants which naturally survive as bulbs will usually die down into the ground when their season is finished in order to store their energy to return the following year.
