Add vibrant, long-lasting colour to the front of your borders with Potentilla nepalensis 'Miss Willmott' (Cinquefoil). This charming cottage garden perennial features deeply lobed, strawberry-like foliage that creates a neat, lush green mound. Throughout the summer, it produces an absolute abundance of stunning, cherry-pink, saucer-shaped flowers, each beautifully accented by a darker crimson-red centre. Incredibly reliable and floriferous, it is an exceptional choice for edging paths, filling gaps in sunny borders, and providing a valuable nectar source for bees.

Bedwen Plants Care Tip: Cinquefoils are wonderfully unfussy and will thrive in most well-draining garden soils. To keep the plant looking fresh and to prolong the spectacular display of cherry-pink blooms right through the summer, regularly deadhead the spent flowers. In late autumn, simply cut the dying foliage right back to the ground.

Plant Care

What are you buying?

4L, 2L & 1L refer to pot volume in litres. 9cm, 7cm & 5cm refer to pot diameter. These are common terms used in plant retail to indicate the size of a plant root system. Leaf & stem growth on plants varies widely by variety and time of year. Usually, 1L/2L/4L plants can be anywhere between 20-60cm tall & 5/7/9cm plants will be around 10-30cm tall. However, this may be less if the plant is naturally low growing or if it is a herbaceous plant in winter.

Plug plants are small plants grown from seeds or cuttings in cell trays. Their root systems start from about 1cm and the largest plug plants, described as extra-large or jumbo, are usually around 4cm. Plug plants can be great value to buy but they will need some extra care to get them started. We recommend planting each plug plant into its own 7 or 9cm pot (about the size of a standard mug), NOT directly into open ground or large pots. Ensure the pot has plenty of holes underneath and preferably over two tiers for even better drainage.
