English Lavender ‘Platinum Blonde’ has bright, variegated yellow-green foliage with a profusion of fragrant soft blue flower heads from June to August. Perfect for planting in sunny borders, patio containers or for creating a colourful evergreen hedge for edging borders and pathways. Attractive to bees and pollinating insects.
Culinary note: English lavender has many culinary uses in sweet and savoury dishes as well as in drinks. They can be added to a stock to accompany many meat dishes such as lamb, duck or pork. Lavender sugar is popular and can be used for making biscuits, jams, jellies, sorbets or ice cream. They can be used to make refreshing summer cocktails or in hot teas.

What are you buying?
4L, 2L & 1L refer to pot volume in litres. 9cm, 7cm & 5cm refer to pot diameter. These are common terms used in plant retail to indicate the size of a plant root system. Leaf & stem growth on plants varies widely by variety and time of year. Usually, 1L/2L/4L plants can be anywhere between 20-60cm tall & 5/7/9cm plants will be around 10-30cm tall. However, this may be less if the plant is naturally low growing or if it is a herbaceous plant in winter.
Plug plants are small plants grown from seeds or cuttings in cell trays. Their root systems start from about 1cm and the largest plug plants, described as extra-large or jumbo, are usually around 4cm. Plug plants can be great value to buy but they will need some extra care to get them started. We recommend planting each plug plant into its own 7 or 9cm pot (about the size of a standard mug), NOT directly into open ground or large pots. Ensure the pot has plenty of holes underneath and preferably over two tiers for even better drainage.
