Gooseberry ‘Hinnonmaki Red’ is a superb, easy to grow variety with a good resistance to disease, and produces a heavy crop of fruit. The ruby-red, medium-sized gooseberries are sweet when ripe (usually mid-July), with a tangy outer skin. It has superb flavour straight off the bush and it also cooks and freezes well.
