Common cress (Lepidium sativum), also known as garden cress, is a fast-growing, edible herb with a distinct peppery flavour. It belongs to the mustard family and is widely cultivated for its tender, nutrient-rich leaves. Thriving in cool, damp conditions, it can be grown indoors or outdoors, making it a convenient year-round crop. Often used fresh in salads, sandwiches, and garnishes, common cress adds a spicy kick to dishes. With small, delicate green leaves and tiny white flowers, it matures in just a few weeks. Popular among home gardeners, it requires minimal care, making it an ideal herb for beginners.

Plant Care
What are you buying?

Plug plants are small, young plants grown in cell trays. Even the largest plug plants, described as extra-large or jumbo, are still small plants from cell trays and not established plants. Plug plants can be great value compared to buying more established plants however they may need some extra care to get them started.

Caring for Plug Plants

We recommend starting plug plants in a small pot and not planting directly into open ground or large pots/planters. You will want a plant pot roughly the size of a tea mug, commonly referred to as 7cm or 9cm pots. Ensure the pot has plenty of holes underneath and preferably over two tiers for even better drainage.

Reduced Plastics

In order to lessen our environmental impact, all of our plants will be removed from their plastic cell trays or pots before sending. Ensure you are ready to pot your plants when they arrive.
