Rhubarb 'Timperley Early'

Rheum x hybridum

2L Plant (More info)

Rhubarb ‘Timperley Early'

2L Plant

‘Timperley Early' is an excellent, high yielding early rhubarb variety. It produces delicious, thick and succulent stems which change in colour from deep red at the base to light green with red flecks. Left to grow naturally, the stems can be ready for harvest from March, though a perfect variety for forcing which can result in crops from as early as February!

Note: Rhubarb leaves contain poisonous substances so should not be ingested, but they are a useful addition on the compost heap.

Please note herbaceous plants naturally die-back during the colder months. We always ensure plants have at least some growth during this time, however when buying during October through to March, the growth may be minimal and there may be blemishes from winter cold.

What am I Buying?

2L (2 Litres) refers to the volume of the pot, the roots are almost 4 times the size of a 9cm pot. The size of the plant can vary greatly, most will be between 30-60cm tall unless they are naturally low growing plants or if you are buying herbaceous plants in winter.

Please note: In order to lessen our environmental impact, all of our plants will be removed from their plastic cell trays or pots before sending. Ensure you are ready to pot your plants when they arrive.
