‘Catawbiense’ is an evergreen shrub with gorgeous, large lilac-purple blooms through spring and summer. An excellent plant for shady spots in your garden. This long lived rhododendron’s flowers are rich in nectar helping to entice beneficial insects into your garden.
A part shade lover, grows best in evenly moist, acidic, humusy, well-drained soils. Protect from high winds. Mulch annually with leaf mould. Deadheading not necessary. Pruning should be done immediately after flowering.

Please remember that you're not buying 9cm tall plants. 9cm refers to the diameter of the pot commonly used in plant retail.
The size of the plant can vary greatly.
Most will be between 10-30cm tall unless they are naturally low growing plants or if you are buying herbaceous plants in winter.
