Medicinal Plant Collection.

Plug Plant

Jelly plant 'Medicus' is a medicinal plant from Africa. It contains jelly for wound healing. The bulbine plant belongs to the succulent lily family and therefore has thickly pulpy leaves. When cutting or breaking a leaf a viscous jelly leaks which is said to have a certain healing effect on wounds, skin infections, eczema and burns.

Lemon balm 'Fit' is a bushy perennial with broadly ovate, lemon-scented leaves with scalloped edges, and leafy spikes of flowers in summer. This variety is comparatively large leaved.

Curry plant 'Kari' is a small bushy evergreen sub-shrub with linear, silvery-grey, curry-scented leaves, and small yellow flowerheads in domed clusters

WHAT AM I BUYING?

Plug plants are small plants or seedlings grown in cell trays. The trays we use can vary from plant to plant therefore we don’t make any guarantee on size. Please note plug plants can struggle to form roots in larger pots without the correct treatment, please follow the instructions below:

PLUG CARE:

Buying plugs can save money but they will need some extra care. Most small plants or plugs should not be planted directly into large pots or open ground. We recommend first potting into a small pot, a pot roughly the size of a tea mug is ideal (9cm pots are commonly used). Make sure you use a growing media that drains well. Water fully straight after potting but after this it is VITAL that you refrain from watering too often, a daily watering regime can stunt or kill a small plant just as easily as not watering at all. Allow the plant roots to fill the pot before potting on to larger pots or open ground.

REDUCED PLASTIC

We do not send plants in plastic blister packs or pots, we have developed a way of holding the plants in place without excessive use of plastic and use bio-degradable bags to hold the moisture.
