FRENCH TARRAGON 'Pfefferkorn'

2 x Plug

Family:

Asteraceae

Genus:

Artemisia, is a genus of aromatic herbs and shrubs in the Asteraceae family. Examples include wormwood, sagebrush, and tarragon. Many species are valued as ornamentals for their attractive silvery grey foliage, which is frequently used to create contrast or to smooth the transition between intense colors.

Details:

The strongly aromatic, slightly aniseed-flavoured leaves are ideal chopped and added to salads, fish, egg and chicken dishes. The leaves can be used to infuse white wine vinegar and it is an essential flavouring a buttery barnaise sauce. Can be harvested throughout growing season. Looks good grown in terracotta pots, loose clusters of white flowers in late summer. Popular choice for cuttings.

WHAT AM I BUYING?

Plug plants are small plants or seedlings grown in cell trays. The trays we use can vary from plant to plant therefore we don’t make any guarantee on size. Please note plug plants can struggle to form roots in larger pots without the correct treatment, please follow the instructions below:

PLUG CARE:

Buying plugs can save money but they will need some extra care. Most small plants or plugs should not be planted directly into large pots or open ground. We recommend first potting into a small pot, a pot roughly the size of a tea mug is ideal (9cm pots are commonly used). Make sure you use a growing media that drains well. Water fully straight after potting but after this it is VITAL that you refrain from watering too often, a daily watering regime can stunt or kill a small plant just as easily as not watering at all. Allow the plant roots to fill the pot before potting on to larger pots or open ground.
